Value Analysis and Development Initiative

HCIR’s Value Analysis and Development Initiative (“VADI”) can assess your company’s product and services to determine the key value points that a particular product or service will provide to your target customers. From the earliest stages of product development, HCIR can work alongside your company to ensure that your device adds value in the current competitive marketplace and that the company has the necessary data to support those claims.

We will also work with team members to develop a comprehensive slide presentation to be submitted for preview to the potential customer (i.e., VAC or Supply Chain Committee) along with a much shorter “pitch” deck that briefly states the Value Equation and provides more detail around the partnership offering for the committee meeting itself. HCIR team members will train company representatives to ensure alignment on key messages.

Another integral component of this program is the “mock VAC” meeting managed by HCIR and includes a panel of uniquely qualified experts to just and critique participants. Roles on the committee mirror that of a true VAC committee including committee chair, chief financial officer, physicians, healthcare economist, service line leaders. These roles are played by HCIR members who have actually performed in these roles in their careers and have extensive experience.

HCIR’s Value Analysis and Development Initiative (“VADI”) can provide investors with an assessment of the potential value that a prospective product or service will provide to the medical marketplace. Our analysis includes the following:

• Identifying the likely mix of end users (OBL, ASC, or hospital) for the product
• Providing a comparative multi-stakeholder market assessment of the prospective technology in context of existing products and known potential competitors under development
• Review of the potential reimbursement pathways for the product in various end user settings
• Identifying the data needed for the product to demonstrate value in each end user setting and providing the Investor clients with a recommended path forward for the technology
• Identifying potential changes to reimbursement in the near future that may help or harm the investment’s prospects
• Other economic analysis that should be considered
